Education and Training
One of the principle goals of the institute is the education and training of the next generation of stem cell researchers and the physicians who will practice regenerative medicine. The institute fosters this goal through graduate education, post-doctoral employment, medical school coursework and training grants provided by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), the National Institutes of Health and others.
Center for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research and Education
Stanford University is dedicated to the training of outstanding scientific leaders in the field of stem cell research. The Center for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research and Education (hESC) offers training for individuals at all levels of their careers, including students, postdoctoral fellows, medical fellows, physicians and research scientists in the basic biology of human embryo and pluripotent stem cell research. NIH Research Fellowships
The institute periodically offers a limited number of NIH research fellowships in stem cell research.
CIRM Scholar Training Grants
Stanford offers training in stem cell research through grants funded by the California Instititute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). The current deadline for applications is September 7, 2009.
